American Banker Names Stephany Kirkpatrick As One of The Top 20 Most Influential Women in Fintech

American Banker today announced its second annual Most Influential Women in Fintech, honoring female leaders in the fintech community who are paving the way for the industry’s future while championing critical issues like diversity, inclusion, and mentorship.

The finalists are helping to bring new financial technology to life and move the industry forward in its efforts to help consumers, businesses, and financial institutions innovate and bring about better products and experiences.

We’re happy to announce that Orum’s Founder & CEO, Stephany Kirkpatrick, is among the 20 notable women.

It’s no secret that females are underrepresented in the C-suites of financial technology companies, so we’re shining a spotlight on the standout women in the sector. These are incredible leaders driving innovation and transformation, and they should be recognized for their achievements. — Penny Crosman, Executive Editor, Technology at American Banker

Orum's Innovation Over The Past Year

Last October, Orum launched Verify, the first-ever product built on top of FedNow, the Federal Reserve’s new instant payment rail. Traditionally, businesses have used a range of antiquated solutions to verify bank accounts, including slow microdeposits, batched historical data, and the manual entry of end-user login credentials. These processes can take days, leading to millions in lost revenue.

Verify determines within 15 seconds whether a bank account is open, valid, and able to receive money before initiating payments, saving businesses valuable time and resources. Verify also covers 100% of all US-based consumer and business bank accounts, much more than most solutions on the market.

In February 2024, Orum connected directly to the Federal Reserve, first with FedACH and then FedNow and FedWire services. The direct connection to the Federal Reserve’s payment rails as a service provider is part of Orum’s new money movement API, Deliver. The Deliver API orchestrates and optimizes money movement through Federal Reserve payment rails on behalf of banking institutions. The launch of our new Deliver API allows us to offer bank-rate pricing and expanded processing windows without costly bank integrations.
